The Final Revelation - the Quran - sent by Allah (God) for humanity, undoubtedly is a guidance for all of humankind at one level; while at the same time, it has a deeper guidance for those who have God-consciousness (taqwā).In order to truly understand the nuances of the Qur'an and be able to benefit from its universal guidance. a person needs to have a teacher - and as Allah as clearly tells us in the Quran, that is none other than Prophet Muhammad (ṣ), and those who are firmly grounded in the knowledge of the Quran, the Ahl al-Bayt (ʿa): "It is He (Allah) who has sent down to you this Book (the Qur'an), wherein are verses absolutely explicit and firm: they are the core of the Book: while there are other (verses) which are allegorical. Those in whose hearts is a deviation, pursue what is allegorical in it seeking (to cause) dissension; and seeking to make it open to arbitrary interpretation - although none knows its interpretation except Allah and those firmly rooted in knowledge, (and they) say: 'We believe in it (in the entirety of its verses, both explicit and allegorical); all is from our Lord'. Yet, none derives admonition except the people of discernment" (Quran, Sūrah Al Imran (3), Verse 7)Thus, in order to truly understand the Qur'an the way that Allah Us intended, people need to latch onto and understand its contents based on both guides - the physical Quran and the teachers of the Quran - with an emphasis on the second of the two weighty things, the Prophet (ṣ) and his Ahl al-Bavt (ʿa): and as an extension to this, the Muslim scholars who have struggled to understand the Quran in the light of these teachings: This is the goal of The Clear Guidance.
