In the early 1930s the District Council published a guide book to the area heralding Shoeburyness as a 'Health Resort'. The script of that guide is reproduced as an historical record and memory of Shoeburyness at the time. No changes have been made to the script but the illustrations are mostly not the originals, but similar photographs from the Shoebury Photo Archive.
