A Storysack based on the book ‘Stanley’s Stick’ by John Hegley, it includes a real stick for use when telling the story. Stanley’s stick is ordinary but it can be anything from a rocket to a dinosaur! A bag of laminated ‘object cards’ can be used to match to those Stanley uses his stick to make. Find your own stick and use the laminated instruction sheet to help you make your own ‘journey stick’ when out and about in the park, woods or beach. Check out the ideas for using sticks or other natural objects for further fun activities. A non-fiction book ‘Learning About Trees’ is also provided for added interest and discussion. A map of local beaches and green spaces provides ideas for places to explore in Southend.
