A Storysack for children aged 3 years and above based on the wonderful picture book ‘I Like the Rain’ by Sarah Nelson . Great for reading aloud because of its lyrical rhyme and rhythm and conjuring up everything that is fun about rain: splashing in puddles, dancing with umbrellas… A second book, ‘All About Weather: A First Book for Kids’ encourages discussion around the weather theme. The sack also contains a children’s umbrella and a ‘thunder tube’ for making some fun thundery sounds. There is also a sheet of laminated instructions for making a raincloud in a jar and a ‘Match the Weather’ activity sheet. A map of local beaches and green spaces provides ideas for places to explore in Southend.
